ANAK in brief
ANAK – Un pont pour les enfants/A Bridge for the Children is a French association which supports and encourages the action of the parent foundation created in the Philippines Tulay ng Kabataan (which means “A Bridge for the Children”).
To date, more than 2,800 children of 24 centers are supported, as part of three programs started by the foundation in Manila. Click here for more information
In France, our action is grounded on the following principles:
- Voluntary work
Each Anak member is a volunteer member devoting most of his/her spare time to the cause of the children of Manila.
Anak members are deeply committed to promoting this cause and to finding donors and partners, which can help financially in setting up on-site actions.
- Transparency
100% of the donations is paid back to the association in Manila. The operational costs of the association are covered by member donations.
However, a chartered accountant certifies the accounts of the association annually.
- A strong and genuine link with the children of the foundation
Many Anak members are former volunteers who took part in programs set up in Manila. That is the reason why each and every one knows the children of the foundation personally as well as the actions implemented on-site.
Occasionally, each member visits the children in Manila.
- The “Anak” Family
Whether directly or indirectly, each donor feels close to Anak. We want to maintain a very special relationship with each and every one.
Nevertheless, we are not a BIG NGO, and as far as possible, we’ll remain a humanitarian association of craftsmen.
